| Jean was born in Dublin. She was a founding member of the Dublin Writers'
Workshop and has published a number of poems in their workshop journals.
In 1990 she ws awarded a scholarship to the Eastern Washington University summer workshop in Dublin, and in 1995 was a tutor for the workshop. She has published her work in anthologies, including Fortnight, Poetry Ireland Review, Gown, Irish Studies Review, Ireland's Women: Writings Past & Present and the Cloverdale Anthology(2).
