[acornlive] Where have all the posting gone?

'ello'ello'ello! Is there anybody out there? I'm feeling all defected
(oops! I mean dejected) away over in this rainy country. I haven't had a
response to my query dated May 30 1999. It's not a big deal but I'm STILL
curious as to why Conor Ryan has six messages dated July 10 to Aug 29, 1999!
Or is he MONTHS ahead of us here in Canada?

Well, there's another reason why I'm here again, apart from just wanting to
say hello or Dia duit or houzyurfather. It's a kind of an online SOS. I'm
putting together a short story collection in the hopes that one of these
centuries a publisher will come along and discover what a great bard I am.

As I can't afford the 500 pounds (or 1200 dollars) or so that 'free'lancers
charge in this country to edit a manuscript , my plea goes around the globe
to any or all of you who would like to volunteer to sharpen your editorial
skillsaws. And when I become more famous than Edna O' Brien or Angela's son,
I'll remember you all in my rosary every night and morning!

I already have several stories posted on THE SHORT STORY WORKSHOP just a hop
slip and a jump from here and I have been getting some encouraging responses
but the more feedback I get the more I will learn how to improve my work.
Oooo I know what you'll say when you read them, you'll say, 'Shur Cait, how
can you improve on perfection?' I wish!

So if anyone wants a nice comfortable, warm and fuzzy-feel-good read, then
my stories are not for you! OR your children...

Seriously, though, I'm a struggling (late bloomer...) writer and I would
appreciate any suggestions that you might offer on how to make good stories
even better.

I have two titled THE DAIRY FARMER and IN THE DARKNESS. The others have my
name, Coogan, on them.

Well, I'll bid you all an oiche mait, or morning or midday, depending on
where you are. And I look forward to ANYBODY'S reply...

Slan agut agus slainte (don't know the keys for fadas) and may your sleep
never be interrupted by bad dreams.

Cait
