Morning.

I am a first time novelist who has been through the mill of attempting to hawk my book to publishers. Sound familiar ? No doubt any number of you guys will have walked the same tiresome road. As you walk it the mind is hardly filled with thoughts like ‘what a thoroughly decent bunch of chaps
these publishers are.’ As ever it was hard to fathom them. They all said the book was great. They all really, really liked it themselves, but.......and the but was mainly that my name was neither Archer nor Grisham and Herr Munchenbacher in Frankfurt only allows them to publish surefire stuff.
Well, I got fed up and decided to do it myself. And the good news is that it is more than possible.

‘One Man’s Meat’ has now been out a month, I’ve got over a thousand copies sold and ‘break even’ is not so very far away.

So, purpose of E Mail.

1. If anyone else is fed up to the back teeth of battling to get their work published then drop me an E Mail and you can have the names and addresses of all the people that I have found who have sorted me out. You will be surprised at how little it costs.

2. Of course, you would want to be sure that something self-published doesn’t come out looking like
a hand made bodge job from a cheap photocopier. I promise it doesn’t, but to be certain you’ll hav
e to buy a copy. On the basis that the best marketing available for the likes of myself is word of
mouth, I am quite happy to sell copies to any fellow writers at cost (£2.50) plus postage (£1.50) o
n the wing and prayer that they may read it and tell their mates.

3. If nothing else, it is always nice to talk to other writers, and there aren’t many about in the
Scottish wilds where I now reside.

I have a Website which is www.glenmill.freeserve.co.uk. It is quite hokey cokey and I didn’t do it
myself ! It was done by one of the guys who helped me with the book. So please get in touch.

All the best

Mark Frankland
