- A US publishing company intends to compile a work, "Treasures by The
  Poets of Ireland", from previously unpublished individuals, to be
  launched in Ireland in time for St Patrick's Day next year.  The
  publishers have pledged 20% of their net profits in this venture
  towards the commissioning of a replica of the original St Patrick's
  statue which stood on the Hill of Tara for a century.  Further

- The fourth Brian Moore Short Story competition is now accepting
  entries for a top prize of Stg500.  Entries should be sent by August
  31 to Creative Writers' Network, 15 Church Street, Belfast BT1 1ER
  before August 31.
