Is it Linda? I'm not sure. I'm not new to the business of editing or providing
"constructive criticism", but clearly have committed a mortal sin on my first
response to a writer with subject heading "funny story".

Your poem begged me to change the placement of the words..which I hope you will
either change back again to suit yourself..or leave..as you wish. It was easier
than commenting.

p.s. Liam..I notice that the "from sender" appears in the e-mail which I sent to
you. Is this normal? If so, I'm not receiving e-mail addresses from other
contributors. Some look like they would be very interesting to have. Please let
me know.

Ok, I've worked on this a little bit. It may be "getting there", wherever
"there" is. I'm sure you'll let me know!! LOL

Newgrange (2)

Stone does not give
You must crouch and squeeze,
Turn and ease your too-large body
Through
Narrow clutching channel.
Upward,
Inward,
Climbs the path,
In muffled reverse-birth,
Towards
The Expanding Center Chamber
Waiting
Waiting,quietly.

Beneath
Tons of rock and earth
Cool air breaths
Down the perfume of the ages.

Petrified
Circling spirals sing their cryptic message;
Are they maps or music?
Maybe both!

Hand-smoothed basins
Lie
Empty of offering,
Broken -
Like the promise of all futures.

Here -
The blackness waits,
Holding all the light that ever was,
Holding us,
Close
Holding our collective breath - our common pulse,
The dark
We all have known
In each heart and soul.
Invisible
And
Motionless in ink
We wait,
We wait,
For the winter sun
To creep
Across the door;

We will see
Once more
And wake again
To possibility.
