Fish Short Story Prize

£1,000 (approx$1100)
For the overall winner
Second Prizes:-
· One week at Anam Cara Writers' Retreat, Eyeries, Beara, Co Cork. 
· Top 15 stories will be published in Fish's 2001 anthology.
· Up to six short-listed stories will be published in The New Writer
Judges:     Antonia Logue: Kate O'Riordan: Merric Davidson.   
Conditions:
- The competition is open to writers from all countries, but stories must be written in English.
- Closing date 30th November 2000.
- There is no restriction on theme or style. Maximum words 5,000.
- Stories must be typed, one side. Name and address should not appear on text, but on a separate sheet. Include phone number and e mail if possible.
- The judges' verdict is final. No correspondence will be entered into once work has been submitted. 
- Entry Fee: £8 ($12) for the first story, £5 ($8) per subsequent story if submitted at the same time. Concession rate £5 ($8). Cheques payable to Fish Publishing.
- For receipt of entry, notification of results, or other inquiries, include SAE or e mail address. State which is required. No entry form is needed.
- The winning stories must be available to Fish Publishing for the forthcoming anthology, and therefore must not have been published previously.
- Entry will be deemed as acceptance of these conditions.
- Results announced 17th  March on our web site - http://www.fishpublishing.com/
- Critique: for a fee of £30 ($50) a considered critique of your story is available (250 words min)

for  £7.95 (us$15) including postage. Order Fish's 2001 anthology along with your entry and avail o
f £2 ($3) reduction. Send personal cheque or bankers draft for £6 (us$15), receive the book in July
 2001.
