(oops, i meant to send this to everyone but i think it only went to franc -
so here's the revised version)

thanks for everyone's responses and encouragement.

nessa's estimated numbers on admission to trinity were a little daunting - i
was expecting it to be competitive, but had not sought out the figures
before; despite the warnings of experience and some drawbacks presented, my
spirits are not dampened (except by the incessant rain - i'd better get used
to that!) and my irish writing dream persists.

another question (since i was so successful in getting responses last time)
- does anyone have information on scholarships to apply for, as a foreign
student? tuition is quite staggering when applying from abroad, and i'm
sure there are grants and scholarships to be had, if one can find them out.
i'd be grateful for any information.

when any of you speak of particular poetry magazines, are they generally
published in ireland? and how might i get my hands on a copy?

i would really like to share a poem or two at some point, but i keep
forgetting to bring my notebook with me. i really enjoy reading other
people's poems on the listserv - lovely language sifting through the bits
and bytes!

cheers,
jess
