I've sent this to folks in my address book. Apologies if some of you feel
you've been spammed. (Alex)
Folks, probably because I was away and wasn't around to push it, the
short-story competition "Ashes 2001" despite being UKP £100/£50 (and the
route to a further £1500 prize) has just THIRTY entries at the moment.
Half of these have been marked and just one story has squeezed into the
final (110), so enter now, and enter two stories, three.
(a) You'll save my life
(b) You'll help to keep up the standards of Ashes
(c) You'll have a great chance of a prize!
Entries close January 31st.
5,000 word limit, 2-3,000 preferred, minimum 1" margins, good size font
(12/13/14 point) 14 is great, 1.5 line spacing (or double), no subject
limits but porn or writing-for-children will be unlikely to win.
Entry is £6, £10 for crit of a MINIMUM of three pages.
Dollar costs are $12 for stories and $20 for critiques
1999 Anthology is £5, 2000 Anthology is £6. Overseas add £1 to Anthology
costs.
email entries are fine, to:
alex.keegan1@btinternet.com
and US-based writers can send checks to a US address, if they wish. (Contact
me).
PS The judge for the grand prize for last year's comp promised me the
results for the weekend just gone...
