Hello Fellow Followers of Nessa!
In Fall Semester I will be giving a course on 'Roman Influences on English
Literature'. It is an undergraduate course and I will have to stay very
mainstream. But I would be delighted to hear from you all any especially
interesting things you may have come across that could have relevance to
what I will be doing. Of course, we will rely much on Penguin's series of
various Roman poets 'in English' and recent translations like Ferry's,
Slavitt's, etc. Since both Michael Longley and Derek Mahon did classics at
Trinity, you may have detected strong Roman undercurrents in some of their
work. I would love to hear.
Best wishes to all and sundried! for Easter from a beautiful beginning
Spring season in Roma, Caput Mundi (that's if we don't count Cork, of
course!).

Chris Neenan
