Betrayal
Stone proud woman,
wasn't she?
Walking with me....
I who handed him the eyes of my eyes,
Their souls dancing in and about!
Sleeping close by,
his obsequious song.
And trusting the moon's long flowers,
Tendrils bending near
and whispering in my aching ear.
"Give us your dreams,
our roots are unending, our petals drawn.
We'll support your soul,
on the night wind strong.
Believe in us.
We gave you him!"
Said he then
in broken words and empty breath.
I give you back your future days!
And moved away from his merry mask.
Leaving it unclasped
and lying there.
In the wet of his first indifference.
No warning signs...
hung up here.
And I thinking,
wasn't she,
walking so tall but in borrowed shoes.
Stone proud woman,
Me!
Fell first her thoughts,
on the ground
like raining drops....
Walking she,
so tall,
before knowing his names
