This is the logo
of DVBLINIA, the museum and heritage centre of medieval
Dublin, situated at Christchurch.
"The DVBLINIA logo
represents two foxes dressed as pilgrims with hats, scarves
and satchels. They feature on a two-colour, segmental floor
tile from Christ Church Cathedral. A whole band of such
tiles would have formed a circular arrangement, the animal
pilgrims walking one behind the other in a clockwise direction.
This design is believed to date from the early fourteenth
century, when the satirical use of animals dressed as humans
(here possibly friars begging for alms) was popular."
DVBLINIA and the
adjoining cathedral are well worth a visit if in Dublin.
