We offer two ways in which our guests can discuss Irish and International
literature, poetry, writing, publishing and literary culture.
You can get involved too by posting message in our Forum or joining
the Acorn Live mailing list.
1) Please be polite and respectful of others' points of view,
avoid using ALL CAPS in your text and think before you hit the
"Send" button... is your message really adding to the discussion
at hand?
2) Please do not post messages of an offensive, plainly irrelevant
or obscene nature. Those doing so will be removed from the mailing
list. Those posting promotional material, inappropriate jokes and generally
"SPAMming" the list will also be removed.
3)When Posting to the Acornlive mailing list, please configure your
mail program to send a message in plain text format only. (not HTML or rich text)
This ensures that
everyone on the list can read your post without difficulty on their platform and
mail program.
Also, the mailing list software does not support the sending of
attatchments, so please do not attatch graphics,
MS Word documents etc. to your mail.
4) If you feel a thread of discussion could be moved to our
"Acorn Interactive" messaging forum from the Acorn Live mailing
list, please feel free to contact us (in the case of a moderated
thread) and we will add it for you.
5) When on the Acorn Live mailing list, you don't need to hoard
all the postings to the list on your local computer.. we have
an archive kept
of all the messages posted to the list which you can return
and refer to.
6) When using the Acorn Live mailing list, avoid using the
words "majordomo", "subscribe" and "unsubscribe"
as the list program may interpret these as commands and your
mail will bounce
