New Open Mic
reading group for Dublin
Meeting every Monday night at 9pm in Kaffe
Moka on South William Street, Unpublished Rhyme is an Open
Mic. reading group that welcomes both novice and experienced
writers to share their work and listen to others in a relaxed
atmosphere.
Continuing on from the New Irish Writers Movement, set up by
Sean Clifford, we have been running since the June of 1998.
Unpublished Rhyme is a forum for the promotion and benefit
of both new and established writers of poetry, short stories,
lyrics and other 'spoken word' performances. · By providing
a relaxed and informal setting in Kaffe Moka's aptly named,
second floor lounge, known as the library, the evening is centred
around readings, coffee, tea, more readings and a good deal
of socialising between both newcomers and regular participants.
· Because of our practice of not offering critique or competitive
sessions, we have been able to encourage the less experienced
writers to stand up and read, often for the first time.
A web-site is currently being developed as a further platform
for participants work and again, this facility is open to all,
free of charge. If you have any further queries, comments or suggestions,
please do not hesitate to contact me at the above address.
